Creating database listener
The appropriate status log is displayed on the Ready to Install window while the installation is in
progress. When prompted, insert the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor installation disk 2 to
continue with the installation.
The database is created in the location that you specified on the Database Location Specification
installation window.
The Installation Complete window appears after the installation. Click Finish to view the important
licensing information on HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor. For more information, see “Viewing
product license entitlement certificate for existing customers (page 67).
NOTE: When the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor installation completes on the management
station, you can view the installer log details in the PA_INSTALL_Script.log file located in
the <system_drive>:\P9000_PA_Install_Log folder, where <system drive> is the drive
on which the operating system is installed.
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor post-installation steps
NOTE: This section is also applicable for the upgrade process.
After the installation completes, the following HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor services start:
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Database Listener
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Security
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Tomcat
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Monitor
To confirm whether the above-mentioned services have started, see “Confirming the HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor services (page 64).
IMPORTANT: The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Monitor service periodically monitors the
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor tomcat and database services, and dispatches appropriate
email notifications that provide the status of these services. To receive notifications, configure the
SMTP notification settings in the PAMonitor_mail.properties file available in the
<Install_Drive>:\HPSS\paMonitor\conf folder on your management station. For more
information, see the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Software User Guide.
The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor v6.0 installer log details are available in the
PA_Install.log file that is located in the path <system_drive>:\P9000_PA_Install_Log,
where <system_drive> is the drive on which the operating system is installed. For the
PA_Install.log to open, Windows Installer v4.0 or later should be installed on the management
station and functioning properly.
To verify whether you can access HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor, select the Launch HP XP
P9000 Performance Advisor Management Station v6.0 check box. An IE browser window opens
to launch HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor from the management station. For more information,
see “Launching HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor (page 66).
Review the procedures mentioned under “Configuring HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor related
settings (page 65) before logging in to HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor. If any of those
procedures are applicable for your current setup, complete them for accessing HP XP P9000
Performance Advisor.
