HP XP7 Continuous Access Synchronous User Guide (TK911-96004)

Cache Residency
The volumes which set the Cache Residency can be assigned as the Continuous Access Synchronous
pair. You can perform Cache Residency operations on Cnt Ac-S P-VOLs and S-VOLs. For more
information, see the HP XP7 Performance for Open and Mainframe Systems User Guide.
Data Retention
You can create a Cnt Ac-S pair using volumes that have been assigned the access attribute by the
Data Retention (DRU). However, you cannot specify a volume with the "S-VOL Disable" attribute
as a Cnt Ac-S S-VOL.
The following table shows whether a DRU volume with the specified access attribute can be used
as a Cnt Ac-S P-VOL or S-VOL.
