AddTieredPoolOperation
AddTieredPoolOperation manually monitors the performance of and relocates hardware tiers
for a pool for Smart Tiers. To check the execution status of the AddTieredPoolOperation command,
use the GetTieredPoolStatus command.
NOTE:
This command can be used only with P9500.
This command can be used only when the automatic execution of performance monitoring and
hardware tier relocation for the target pool for Smart Tiers is set to disable. You can check
whether automatic execution is set to disable by checking the autoMigration value of the
Pool instance.
To manually monitor performance and relocate hardware tiers, execute the
AddTieredPoolOperation command and the GetTieredPoolStatus command as follows:
1. Start performance monitoring.
Execute the AddTieredPoolOperation command with startMonitor specified for the
operation parameter.
2. Stop performance monitoring.
Execute the AddTieredPoolOperation command with stopMonitor specified for the
operation parameter.
3. Check the execution status of performance monitoring.
Execute the GetTieredPoolStatus command to check the execution results.
Check the values of monitoringState, lastMonitorStartDate, and
lastMonitorEndDate under An instance of Pool displayed in the execution results. For
details about the values, see Table 134.
4. Start hardware tier relocation.
Execute the AddTieredPoolOperation command with startRelocation specified for the
operation parameter.
Hardware tier are relocated based on the performance monitoring information obtained from
the time step 1 is executed until the time step 2 is executed.
5. Check the execution status of hardware tier relocation.
Execute the GetTieredPoolStatus command to check the execution results.
Check the values of relocationState and relocationProgress displayed in the execution
results. For details about the values, see Table 134.
