Checking the items required to execute Device Manager CLI
You need to check the following items to execute Device Manager CLI.

URL of Device Manager server
The user ID and password used to operate Device Manager
are required. You can use the user ID and password of the
built-in account (user ID: System) that is registered when Device
Manager is installed.

Command format
To execute Device Manager CLI, change the current directory to the installation folder for Device
Manager CLI, and then make the following specification:
hdvmcli Device-Manager-server-URL -u user-ID -p password command-format
TIP:
In the subsequent command execution examples, the portion Device-Manager-server-URL
-u user-ID -p password is omitted. The default value (http://localhost:2001/service
-u system -p manager) is assumed for this omitted part.
Adding a storage system
This appendix describes how to add a storage system by using Device Manager CLI. Execute commands
indicated below.
To add a storage system:
1. Execute the GetServerInfo command to acquire a list of supported array families.
2. Execute the AddStorageArray command to register storage system information into Device
Manager server database.
Acquiring a list of array families
Execute the GetServerInfo command to acquire a list of array families. You can use the array
family information acquired by using this command to add a storage system.
