According to these restrictions, you can calculate the external volume’s maximum usable capacity for each
emulation type. When the mapped external volume’s capacity is more than the specified emulation type’s
maximum capacity, a certain part of the external volume cannot be used.
The minimum data area capacity, base data area capacity, and control information area capacity for
each emulation type are listed in Table 13. For the OPEN-L emulation type, CVs cannot be created.
Therefore, the base data area capacity and minimum data area capacity for the OPEN-L emulation type
are the same. For the OPEN-V emulation type, the base data area capacity is not listed because there is no
concept of base data area capacity.
