The tasks to complete include:
1. Configure discovery and credentials
2. Set up managed systems
3. Add new users
4. Configure email settings
5. Set up automatic event handling
To connect to the CMS and start HP SIM:
1. Open a browser window.
2. Enter the web address of the CMS using either of the following address formats:
• http://CMS_fully_qualified_host_name:280/
• http://CMS_IP_address:280/
• https://CMS_fully_qualified_host_name:50000/
• https://CMS_IP_address:50000/
The web address consists of the following:
• The fully qualified host name of the CMS or its IP address
• The default port for HP Systems Insight Manager is port 50000
For example, if the fully qualified host name of the CMS is earth.example.com, enter the
following web address in the address line of your web browser:
http://earth.example.com:280
3. When the Sign-in screen appears, enter the HP Systems Insight Manager administrator user
name and the associated password to sign in to HP Systems Insight Manager.
