3.1 Display Regions on the Autoloader

: This display shows all the LCD sections might occur. Not all would show at any given time.
1 The 10-character dot matrix display provides information on the autoloader's operating status and
potential error conditions. (For the types of message that appear here see Section 3.3 on this page.
2 The 7-segment display shows the number of the cartridges currently loaded in the drive.
3 The letters DC and WP, in the center of the LCD show if data compression is being used for
writing or if the cartridge is write-protected.
4 Numbered boxes on the right of the LCD individually light to indicate which magazine slots
contain a cartridge.
5 The odometer lines at the bottom of the LCD show how much tape remains in the current
partition. The more lines show, the less tape capacity remains.
3.2 Diagnostic Display
The purpose of the diagnostic firmware is to test the autoloader's electronics for functionality. During
power-up, the drive executes a self-test diagnostic sequence where all three LEDs flash twice a second. If
the self-test fails, the Operator Attention Required LED changes to steady amber and the other LEDs go
off.
3.3 LCD Categories of Information:
Three categories of messages can be displayed on the front panel:
1. Normal autoloader operating status information
2. Information messages
3. Error messages
