To Configure the Printer

1. Log onto the network with Supervisor privileges.

2. Click Start, Programs, HP JetAdmin Utilities, then click

HP JetAdmin.

3. To change an existing printer configuration, highlight the

printer you want in the list of printers.

Note If your printer does not appear in the list of

available printers, select a refresh option from the

Device Refresh

pull-down menu.

4. Click Device on the menu bar at the top of the main window,

then do one of the following:

Click New to configure a new printer.

Click Modify to configure an existing printer.

5. If you are configuring a new printer, select the LAN hardware

address of the HP JetDirect print server attached to the new

printer, then click Configure. The address of the HP JetDirect

print server is listed on the HP JetDirect configuration page.

6. Type the new name of the printer.

This is the name that will appear on the network. The printer

name can contain up to 28 characters and must not be the same

as any other print server on the network.

7. Type a general description of the printer (such as the type of

printer, options in the printer, and the printer location). This

description is optional.
