Once installed, the HP JetAdmin icon appears in the HP JetAdmin
Utility Program Folder in the Windows Start menu.
Note If you are installing the HP JetAdmin software
from a source other than the HP JetDirect
CD-ROM, see the HP JetAdmin README file that
accompanies the software for installation
instructions.
Note To obtain the latest version of the HP JetAdmin
software, see HP Customer Care Online
(http://www.hp.com/support/net_printing).
Configuring a Printer
You can use HP JetAdmin to configure a printer that was not
automatically configured during the CD-ROM software
installation. Before you configure a printer with the HP JetAdmin
software, make sure that the following tasks have been performed:
Internal print servers: The print server is installed in the printer
and the printer is connected to a network.
External print servers: The print server has power and is
connected to the printer’s parallel port and network.
The printer is turned on, is online, and you have an HP JetDirect
configuration page.
If you have not printed a configuration page from your printer, see
the HP JetDirect hardware installation guide for your print server
or your printer’s getting started guide for instructions.
