Configuring Windows NT/2000 for Printing
Complete the following steps to set up your Windows NT/2000
system for printing to an HP JetDirect print server. Before you start
this procedure, make sure you have access to the following items:
The Windows NT/2000 installation CD-ROM.
The printer driver for your printer.
The HP JetDirect Port, which is installed when you install the
HP JetAdmin software (version 3.3 and above).

1. Double-click Print Manager in the main window.
2. Click Printer in the menu bar, then click Create Printer.
3. Type a printer name.
4. Select the printer driver for your printer.
5. If desired, type a description of the printer (for example,
bldgC_5Si
).
6. Choose Other in the
Print To:
box. The
Print Destinations
dialog
box appears.
7. Click HP JetDirect Port, then click OK to display the
Add
HP JetDirect Port Wizard
.
8. Select the device you want as follows:
If you want to specify the device, type the hardware address,
TCP/IP address (if configured), or network printer name and
click Next.

If you want to choose a device from a list of printers, click
TCP/IP or IPX/SPX, click Search, select the printer from the
list, click OK, then click Next.
