Network Administrator Features
Hewlett-Packard’s JetAdmin software is an administrative tool
used to install and configure printers connected to a network using
an HP JetDirect print server (network interface). From the
HP JetAdmin software you can:

Configure a print server.
●
Change an existing print server configuration.
●
Diagnose printing problems.
●
Track individual print jobs.
●
Batch add or remove print queues from the command line.
Depending on your printer and print server, you can perform the
following administrative functions:
●
Terminate the active TCP connection between the spooler and
the printer.
●
Enable or disable network protocols.
●
Reboot the HP JetDirect print server.
●
Select Power Save mode.
●
Lock or unlock the printer control panel.
●
Set the control panel password.
●
Lock or unlock the printer hard disk.
●
Modify printer settings.
For systems running Motif, you can also perform the following
functions:
●
Report an actual count of pages printed through a Motif-based
user interface and log file.
●
Auto-discover a list of network printers.
●
Monitor a printer’s status and error conditions.
●
Receive proactive and unsolicited online status and error
messages related to your print jobs.
●
Receive a quick visual status of the printer using a traffic signal
icon.
