BL8x0c i2 and rx2800 i2 Server Installation
Read-Me-First Document (English)
Before installing the Windows operating system (OS) on any HP Integrity BL8x0c i2 or rx2800 i2
server, you must first perform the following steps, in order:
1. On BL8x0c i2 servers only, ensure that you are installing the OS to one of the following
controllers:
Embedded SAS controller (HP Smart Array P410i)
Fibre Channel or SAS Mezzanine card located in the Monarch blade
(the left-most blade in a multi-blade system)
2. For installations using Microsoft media, you must use the EBSU Express Setup option to
ensure that critical configuration settings are made before the OS installation begins.
(EBSU software is located on the HP Smart Setup media.)
3. After the Microsoft OS installation finishes, you must install the Integrity Support Pack
(ISP) from the HP Smart Setup media next. Then install the latest OS patches (called
QFEs) from the HP Smart Update media.
