DNS BIND/iX
Introduction
commonly used version 4.9.4, (with which the majority of experienced
DNS users will be familiar).
This is the latest version of BIND, 8.1.1. with features like:
• DNS Dynamic updates
• DNS change notification
• completely new configuration syntax
• flexible and categorized logging system
• more efficient zone transfers
The package contains a host of utilities and administration tools:
• nslookup — query Internet name servers interactively
• dig — Domain Information Groper
• host — look up host names using domain server
• addr — get address of host
• dnsquery — give all the DNS details and Mail exchange records
