• Download Nessus (www.nessus.org) and other hacker
tools yourself
• Perform security scans of your own systems
• Plug any detected holes, but be aware that false
positives may be reported
• Scanning during off-peak hours is recommended since
these tools can cause certain network services to die on
the target machines
