UPSUTIL: Command >
START Command
The START command instructs UPSUTIL to attempt to start-up a fresh copy of the systems UPS Monitor
Process. If there is not already a copy of the UPS Monitor Process running, then UPSUTIL launches a new
copy of the UPS Monitor Process. However, if the UPS Monitor Process is already running when the START
command is given, then UPSUTIL displays a warning message informing the user of that, and stating that
the START command has been rejected.
The first example below shows a normal, successful execution of the START command, while the second
example shows the results when the START command is rejected because the UPS Monitor Process is
currently running.
Before issuing the START command, you can use the STATUS command to verify that the UPS Monitor
Process is not already running.
After executing the START command, you can use the STATUS command to verify that the START
command worked. The STATUS command should reveal that the UPS Monitor Process is now running.
