Expected associated classes are not displaying in the Domain State or Health
Collection views
By default, the Domain State view and the Health Collection State view do not display the expected
associated class instances.
The layout of the view can be different according to the installation order of the management
packs, the discovery results, and the user's console operation. To include associated classes and
properties in each view, open the Personalize View dialog and select what you wish included in
your views.
Event view and Performance view are empty
The HP Virtual Connect Management Pack does not have data collection rules for events or
performances. Though the Event and Performance views are accessible from HP Classes, data
does not appear in these views.
To view an NT Event:
1. Launch the Computer Management task.
2. View the Event Viewer folder under System Tools.
Events from the DMS are stored in the HP Device Monitor log.
Tasks not launching from the Health Explorer Properties or Product Knowledge pages
The link to the Device Monitor Console displays in the Alert Properties view on the Health Explorer
properties page and the Product Knowledge page. Clicking the link will not launch a task. Use the
link in the Actions panel to launch a task, or right-click HP Virtual Connect, and select a task.
The Group Diagram view displays initials of folder names
Operations Manager groups the health components of the HP Virtual Connect Management Pack
into subfolders, and displays only the initial letters of the first and last health component names
within the folder. Expand the folders to view the entire health component of the management pack
for a specific health collection.
Active Alert view displays one alert although multiple device state changes occurred
The event processing rules of this management pack are designed to consolidate similar events
and to not repeat issues. The consolidated status appears by enabling the Repeat Count property
in the Active Alerts view's settings. If events are consolidated, the Alert Description in the Alert
Details pane only shows the first event that was generated. To view the most recent similar alert,
click View additional knowledge... from the Alert Details pane, and select the Alert Context tab
on the Alert Properties screen.
Management console displays the same domain multiple times
If an HP Virtual Connect domain is registered to multiple DMS instances, the management console
might display the same domain multiple times.
To fix this issue, register different domains under different DMS instances.
Management console does not display alerts in the Active Alert view when opened
from the Domain State view
State view does not always map to alerts, and the Active Alert view window might be empty. This
is according to the design of most Microsoft management packs and the HP Virtual Connect
Management Pack.
