• Fixes – HP SUM includes a search box for finding updates that meet the search parameters.
You can search on file name, description, and update type.
Double-click an update to view its details.
• Component configuration – You need to configure some components before you can deploy
the update. For more information about configuring components, see “Configuring components”
(page 25).
Adding a baseline
1. On the Baseline Library screen, click Add Baselines.
NOTE: If you want to clear the Add baselines screen, click Reset.
2. Do one of the following:
Follow these steps:To add this baseline:
Browse HP SUM Server Path: This is a directory or file
share that the system running HP SUM can access.
a. Select the location type Browse HP SUM Server Path.
b. Enter the directory path to the baseline, or click
Browse and use the menu to navigate to the
directory.
NOTE: If you are adding an SPP, navigate to the
hp/swpackages directory.
UNC path (for example \\host\dir): This location uses
UNC paths that the system can access.
a. Select the location type UNC path (for example
\\host\dir).
NOTE: UNC path is only supported in Windows
systems.
b. In the Enter URI for the baseline field, type the UNC
address for the source baseline.
c. Enter the username, required.
d. Enter the password, required
NOTE: HP SUM does not support mapped UNC
drives.
Download from hp.com a. Select the location type Download from hp.com.
b. In the Location Details section, click Browse and
select an empty directory where you want HP SUM
to store the downloaded baseline.
c. In the Proxy Settings section, select the Proxy Options:
• No Proxy Needed: Use this option if your network
settings do not require a proxy server.
• Proxy Server: Use this option if your network
settings require a proxy server. Add the Address,
Port, Username, and Password.
• Proxy Script: Use this option if your network
settings require a proxy script. Enter the Script,
Username, and Password.
d. Click Retrieve List.
e. Select the baseline you want to download.
NOTE: HP SUM adds all baselines in a directory.
3. Click Add.
Check the activity log to see the status of the baseline.
NOTE: If the baseline does not appear in the baseline list, make sure there are updates in
the directory.
