46 Configuring FSE
When this object is selected, the General tab is displayed on the right pane. The tab shows the current
status and the configuration variables of the FSE library.
When this object is right-clicked, the following actions are available in the pop-up menu:
Enable or Disable: makes the library available to the FSE implementation or puts the library offline.
Rescan: triggers inventory update on the library.
Update: triggers inventory update with a physical slot rescan on the library.
For description of other available actions, see ”Actions associated to objects” on page 52.
<LibraryName> > Slots (container)
This container holds a list of FSE slots configured for the FSE library LibraryName.
When this object is selected, the FSE slot list for the library is shown in the right pane. For each slot the
slot address, the slot type, current status of the slot, and the barcode of the medium located in the slot
(it the slot is in use) are displayed.
<LibraryName> > Drives (container)
This container holds a list of FSE drives belonging to the FSE library LibraryName.
When this object is selected, the FSE drive list for the library is shown in the right pane. For each drive
the drive name, the medium barcode (if the drive is loaded), the drive family, the belonging library
name, host to which the drive is connected, the drive control device, current status of the drive, and the
drive firmware revision are displayed.
When this object is right-clicked, the actions New, New Window from this place, and Properties are
available in the pop-up menu. For action descriptions, see ”Actions associated to objects” on page 52.
<LibraryName> > Drives > <DriveName> (physical object)
An FSE drive assigned to the FSE library LibraryName. The drive executes read and write operations
on the available FSE media.
When this object is selected, the General tab is displayed on the right pane. In the tab, you can review
and modify the FSE drive configuration variables.
When this object is right-clicked, the following action is available in the pop-up menu:
Enable or Disable: makes the drive available to the FSE implementation or puts the drive offline.
For description of other available actions, see ”Actions associated to objects” on page 52.
Drives (container)
This container holds a list of the configured FSE drives in the FSE implementation. FSE drives may
belong to different FSE libraries.
When this object is selected, the FSE drive list for the whole FSE implementation is shown in the right
pane. For each drive the drive name, the medium barcode (if the drive is loaded), the drive family, the
name of the library to which the drive belongs, the FQDN of the host to which the drive is connected,
the drive control device, current status of the drive, and the drive firmware revision are displayed.
When this object is right-clicked, the actions New, New Window from this place, and Properties are
available in the pop-up menu. For action descriptions, see ”Actions associated to objects” on page 52.
Drives > <DriveName> (physical object)
An FSE drive assigned to any of the configured FSE libraries in the FSE implementation.
When this object is selected, the General tab is displayed on the right pane. The tab shows the current
status and the configuration variables of the FSE drive.
When this object is right-clicked, the following action is available in the pop-up menu:
Enable or Disable: makes the drive available to the FSE implementation or puts the drive offline.

Media Pools (container)
This container holds a list of the FSE media pools configured in the FSE implementation.
When this object is selected, the FSE media pool list is shown in the right pane. For each media pool
the media pool name, the media pool family, the media pool type, the default block size, number of
medium volumes on the media, size of the data volumes, location of the system volume, and size of the
system volume are displayed.
