You need the following items to begin:
Host bus adapter board
The computer hardware manual
Appropriate tools to service the computer
The host bus adapter board plugs into a standard PCI slot in the host computer. Refer to
the system manual for instructions on installing PCI devices.
IMPORTANT: Do not power up anything yet. For the FC switches to autoconfigure, power up
equipment in the sequence described in the next section. Also, the controllers in the subsystem
are not yet configured for compatibility with Tru64 UNIX.
Preparing LUNs for Access by Tru64 UNIX
FileSystem
Tru64 UNIX treats an HSG60 LUN much like a SCSI disk; therefore, to prepare your
LUN for access by the Tru64 UNIX filesystem, you must do the following:
Create the partitions on the LUN using disklabel
Create a filesystem on the LUN
Mount the filesystem to be able to access it
Creating Partitions on a LUN Using disklabel
Create the partitions on a LUN by issuing a disklabel command. The disklabel command
partitions the LUN for access by the Tru64 UNIX Operating System. Tru64 UNIX defines
only partitions a, b, c, and g for the HSG60 controller. In addition, refer to the rz and
disktab man pages for more information about the disklabel utility.
