Enabling SAN Security
To enable a secure SAN, use the connection table locking feature. In the following
example, the connection table is enabled, so no so no other host can login, all
management access is disabled and then a single host is enabled to have management
access.
CLI> SET THIS CONNECTIONS_LOCKED
CLI> SET DISABLE_MANAGERS=ALL
CLI> SET THIS ENABLE_MANAGERS=!NEWCON17
From this point, the newly enabled host with management privileges or the CLI can be
utilized to enable other hosts as management agents.
NOTE: The Selective Management Presentation feature only applies to commands received by
way of a SCSI SEND_DIAG command. If the HSG80 receives a SEND_DIAG command over a
disabled management connection, an ILLEGAL_REQUEST CHECK_COND will be returned
with an ASC=0x91 and ASCQ=0x08. Any command delivered to the HSG80 Serial Port
bypasses this constraint and will be processed.
