Note: In the Oracle Database Reference, enabling NUMA options is referred to as “Enabling Oracle

Database Directed Placement Optimizations”.

Enabling NUMA support in Oracle is currently not supported before Oracle 9iR2 in combination with

RAC. If you are planning to use RAC you must have NUMA disabled. Starting with Oracle 9.2

(Oracle 9iR2) the use of NUMA enablers in an Oracle 9iR2 RAC environment has been certified and

is now fully supported.
