Installing HP MPIO MSA DSM software

You can install HP MPIO MSA DSM on a stand-alone system or cluster conﬁguration. The procedure that

you follow depends on your current system conﬁguration.

This section describes how to install HP MPIO MSA DSM on the following conﬁgurations:

• Installing HP MPIO MSA DSM on stand-alone systems

•InstallingHPMPIOMSADSMonclusterconﬁgurations

Installing HP MPIO MSA DSM on stand-alone systems

You can install this software prior to attaching the hardware. To install the HP MPIO MSA DSM on

a stand-alone system:

1. Complete the pre-installation checklist (Table 2) and the pre-installation procedure.

2. Ensure that only a single path is connected to the storage devices.

3. Conﬁgure the storage sets.

4. Run Launch.exe from the installation location.

5. In the launch window, click HP MPIO Full Featured DSM for MSA1000/1500 (Active-Active) Disk

Arrays.

NOTE:

ForMicrosoftWindowsServer2008–ServerCore(x86andx64),youcanrunLaunch.exe from the

installation location, using the command prompt.

6. Read the information displayed on your screen to complete the installation.

7. Add the redundant pa ths to the storage devices.
