By default, the load balancing for the cluster devices is enabled and cannot be turned OFF in Windows
Server 2008.

Recovering inaccessible disks
If there is a stray reservation on a disk d evice, the device becomes inaccessible to the host systems
connected to it. This is bec ause the strong reservation type (p ersistent resevations) suppor ts load
balancing in
clusters. You can use the persistent reservation utility that comes with the HP MOIO MSA
DSM package
to remove the stray reservations. For more information on how to use this utility , see
