DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
READ ALL PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE.
WHY YOU SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT:
This product raises the pH of swimming pool water. The ideal pH range is
7.2 - 7.8. Maintaining pH in the proper range will allow your sanitizer to work more
effectively, reduce equipment corrosion, reduce eye irritation and skin dryness. Reduce pH
drift by testing the Total Alkalinity each week and maintaining the ideal range of
60 - 120 ppm.
For crystal clear pool water, follow our HTH
®
4 step pool care program: Step 1: Test and
adjust pool water balance, Step 2: Sanitize, Step 3: Shock treat your pool at least once a
week, and Step 4: Add algaecide regularly.
WATER BALANCE:
Adjust and maintain pool water to recommended ranges:
NOTE: Follow label directions for each product and allow each product to dissolve and
disperse before adding additional products to the pool. Always check and adjust total
alkalinity before adjusting pH levels.
HOW TO USE:
1. Before adjusting pH, test and adjust the total alkalinity as needed.
2. Test the pH every week or whenever you add sanitizer with an HTH
®
test kit or
test strips.
3. When the pH is below 7.2, carefully distribute this product while the pool pump is
running. For each 10,000 gallons of water:
a. Add one pound (1 lb) when the pH is below 6.8
b. Add ½ lb when the pH is between 6.8 and 7.2
4. Brush the area to disperse any undissolved particles. Keep the water circulating. After
12 – 24 hours recheck the pH.
5. Repeat these steps with the appropriate amount of this product until the pH is in range.
Do not allow the pH to exceed 7.8 or cloudy water and scale formation may result.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:
Keep product in tightly closed container when not in use. Store out of reach of children and
away from heat or open ame. Use entire contents, then triple rinse and offer for recycling,
or dispose in accordance with state and local regulations. Do not reuse empty container.
FIRST AID: IF IN EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15 – 20
minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. IF ON SKIN OR
CLOTHING: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water
for 15 – 20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
IF SWALLOWED: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice.
Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to
do so by the poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. IF INHALED: Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call
911 or an ambulance, then give articial respiration, preferably by mouth-to-mouth if
possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
