Control airplane mode & other network settings
These settings are available under Settings > Wireless & networks > More. Follow the links for detailed
instructions:
G Airplane mode. Check to turn off all the device's radios that transmit data.
G VPN. Touch to adjust settings that allow you to connect to websites and other resources within a
secured local network from outside that network. See Connect to virtual private networks.
G Tethering & portable hotspot. Touch to adjust settings that allow you to share your device's net-
work connection with a computer or with up to 8 other devices, via USB, Wi-FI, or Bluetooth. See
Share your mobile data connection.
G NFC. Check to turn on Near Field Communication. This technology is used to communicate
between devices that are a few centimeters away from each other. NFC must be turned on for shar-
ing between devices to work correctly.
G Android Beam. Check to permit beaming content from one device to another when NFC is turned
on. See Beam screen content.
G Mobile networks. Touch to adjust settings that control your device's connections with mobile data
networks. See Connect to mobile networks.
