x Automate one device to cause another to take an action. Here, when a
Motion sensor detects a family room is occupied, we want the Lamp
module to turn on a light.
When a Motion sensor senses a room is occupied, a Lamp module turns a light on.
x Have automations occur in selected modes. When someone opens the
door at the tree nursery while the business is open or closed, we want a
record of who came in. So, when the Door/Window sensor’s state
changes to ‘Open’, an automation will cause Aaron’s Forest Cam to take a
picture of who comes through the door.
If you have multiple devices, you can select which camera, thermostat, or
lamp module will respond. Not all devices of a particular type need to act
in the same manner.
Automations
Automations link a change in one device with the action of another device. For example,
you may program an iControl camera to take a picture if a Door/Window sensor detects
an open door. You can create any number of automations and specify in which modes
they will operate.
Sample Automations Window
Here is a sample Automations window taken from an iControl System that has
automations for a Motion sensor, a Door/Window sensor, and a Keychain Remote.
