R-TECH INSULATION IN A BASEMENT APPLICATION, BETWEEN FURRING STRIPS

Installation Steps:

R-Tech is an excellent material for insulating your basement or foundation walls. In applications

where the foundation or basement wall has been furred, you can cut and place the R-Tech

between the studs.

Prepare all materials needed for the job:

R-Tech insulation boards, safety gloves, eye

protection, utility knife, permanent marker,

EPS-compatible adhesive, caulk gun, canned

spray foam.

In our example, we’re using a furred wall that

is framed 16" on center, so you would cut the

R-Tech pieces to 14.5" wide. If your wall has

different dimensions, adjust the measurements

accordingly.

Then use a straight edge ruler and utility knife to make your cut through the insulation. Place your cut pieces in the furred-out wall, reflective side out. The flexibility of R-Tech means it can be installed in a variety of spaces including behind electrical wires since the material has a little bit of give to it.
