Dear Intel EPSD server product customer:

In order to support the new Intel® Xeon® processors based on 45nm technology, EPSD will be updating

its current lineup of Intel® Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems based on the Intel® 5000 Chipset.

With this update EPSD will be changing the product codes of the affected Intel® Server Boards and

Systems to allow customers to easily identify which products support both the new 45nm-based products as

well as the existing Intel® Xeon® 5000, 5100, and 5300 series processors.

While changing a product code may lead customers to assume that this is a major change to the affected

products, Intel views this update as a minor modification which should be considered low risk. Intel

expects that the updated products will be fully backward compatible with the previous versions, and should

not require extra validation.

Shortly after the updated products are released, Intel will cease to produce the older versions of the Intel®

Server Boards and Intel® Server Systems listed below. Final purchases orders for the older products will

need to be received by September 7, 2007 with confirmed delivery by November 9, 2007.

This notification affects the following Intel® Server Board and Intel® Server System product codes:
