Installation & Assembly

INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR ROUGH-IN KIT
The IRON-A-WAY Rough-In Kit is designed identify to the drywall
installer the placement of the ironing center. This kit is not
required for proper installation. It serves as a method of
determining how high, wide and long to make the opening so when
the ironing center is installed at a later point, installation and
mounting are more easily accomplished.
Necessary Tools:
Tape Measure
Staple gun with staples
NOTE: If the installation is being completed in a wall where drywall
is already applied and the installer needs to make an opening for
the ironing center, the rough-in kit is not applicable.
If the installation is being completed in a wall where drywall is not
yet applied but will be applied prior to installation, then follow the
installation steps below:
Installation Steps:
1. Unpack and unfold the rough-in kit.
2. Identify the appropriate model that is being installed. With
certain models a portion of the rough-in kit is scored and
removed in order to shorten the kit to the models rough-in
size. With other models, the entire rough-in kit is used
since it already serves as the rough-in opening size.
3. From the information printed on the rough-in kit, determine
at what height the rough-in kit needs to be mounted
between the studs to allow for the installed unit to be at the
desired board height.
4. Fold out the tabs that will be stapled to the face of the
studs.
5. Place the rough-in kit at the proper height above the floor to
allow for the installed unit to be at the desired board height
and staple the tabs to the face of the studs.
6. Installation of the rough-in kit is complete.
At the time of when the drywall is being applied, the installer will cut out the opening in
the dry wall and mount the drywall around the rough-in kit.
At time of installing the ironing center, score the tabs that are holding the rough-in kit in
place and remove the rough-in kit from the opening.
Once removed, follow the installation instructions provided with your IRON-A-WAY.
