Stitch length: 0.5–1

Baste (or fuse with iron-on fabric joiner) applique pieces
on the fabric. Stitch around the applique making sure
the needle falls along the outer edge of the applique.
When sewing corners, lower the needle down into the
fabric. Raise the presser foot and pivot fabric to the right
or left.

Satin stitches are used for decorative stitches on blankets,
linens, tableclothes and napkins.
It is also especially attractive in applique.
Note: Use tear-away stabilizer under fabric.
Sew a row of stitches and adjust the thread tension so the
needle thread appears on the reverse side of the fabric.
Test the stitch on a sample of the actual fabric first.
