PRECAUTIONS & SAFETY
• Windowinsectscreensarenotsecuritydevicesandwillnot
prevent a child or anyone from falling through.
• Nevermixcleanersorsolvents.Thismaybedangerousas
well as ineffective.
• Usehelpwhenworkingwithalargewindowsashorpatio
doorpaneltoavoidinjury.
• Useproper/safeequipmentandprecautionswhencleaning
andservicingtheexteriorsideofwindowsaboveground
level.
• Ifusingcommercialcleaningornishingproductsor
solvents, carefully read and follow safety instructions,
warnings, cautions and disposal instructions on
manufacturer’slabels.Wearappropriatesafetygear
(e.g. clothing, goggles, gloves) and provide plenty of
ventilation.
• Immediatelycleanspills.
• Mostsolventsareammableand/ortoxicandmustbe
handledwithextremecare.Donotusenearopename,
sparks, or electrical motors.
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Donotpower-washwindowsoruseagardenhose;
this can cause seal failure and allow water to enter the
structure.
• Whencleaningexterior,multi-storywindows,beginwith
the upper story and work down.
• Avoidusingmetaltools,razorblades,orothersharp
objectsandabrasivecleaners.Theycandamagewindow
surfaces,scratchglassandremoveexteriorglasscoatings.
• Aggressivecleanersorsolventscandamagevinylsurfaces
and may cause yellowing. Immediately rinse and dry.
• Donotallowcleanerstopuddleorcollectatglassedges
near glazing materials.
• Avoidcleaningindirectsunlightorintemperaturestoo
hot or too cold.
• Avoidexcessiverubbingandover-cleaning.
• Donotscour.
• Cleanandrinseoneareaatatime.
• Cleantwiceayear(monthlyincoastalareas)orwhendirty.
• After-markettintsandlmsarenotrecommended,asthey
maycausedamagetotheglassand/orsealant.

BASIC INSPECTIONS & MAINTENANCE
INSECT SCREENS
1.Inspectforthefollowing:
• Cuts,scratches,orholes
• Looseness;tightenexcessivelyloosescrews.
2. Maintain:
• Lightlylubricatetrackswithsiliconspray.
• Duringfreezing,optionalretractablescreensshould
be fully retracted.
• Cleantrackswithavacuum.
3.Replaceorrepairdamagedscreens;ifreplacement
is necessary, contact a local supplier for repair or
replacement information.
Your local hardware or home improvement store is a good
source for supplies and information on screen repair.
Cleaning
1.Removescreenandplacescreenintotuborshower
ifindoors;onlawnorhardsurfaceifoutdoors(avoid
exposuretodirt).Forretractablescreens,cleaninplace.
2. Gently spray with water and brush lightly with soft bristle
brush until clean (use gentle spray nozzle setting).
For stubborn dirt,
1.Gentlyscrubwithsoftbristlebrushwithmildsoap
and water.
2. Rinse clean.
3.Reinstallscreenwhendry.
Tips for best operation of optional retractable patio door
screens
• Usecautionwhenmovingheavyobjectsovertracks.
• Ifadditionalmagneticforceisrequired,adjuststrike
platesothatatsidefacesmagnets.
• Donotapplyexcessivepressuretothescreenhandle;
check for obstructions or misaligned tracks.
• Ifscreenbinds,tryslightlylooseningtrackscrews,and/or
add a lubricant such as silicon spray.

warranty. To be sure, ask your supplier or distributor.
