The Canninggrateistobe usedonlywithJenn-AirExpressionsGas ceoktops.

Thisoptionalaccessorymakes it possibletouse largeover-sizedcanners or

stockpotson the cooktop. Normallycanners should not be allowed to extend

over the edge of the grate• Heat build-upunder the canner could damage

surrounding areas. The elevated design of the Canning grate eliminates such

problems.

Note: The large front burner has been designedto supply the highestBTU

rate.When canning,usethis burner_.

1. Beforeinstallingthecanninggrate,becertainALLcontrolknobsare inthe

"OFF" positionandthe cooktopgrateiscool.

2. Removethe burnergratefromthe large frontburnerof the cooktop.

3. Placethe canninggrate in its place. The largeflat portionshouldextend

forwardover the countertop.Add the surface burnergrateon top of the

canninggrate,

4. Use the surfacecontrol knob for the large front burner.

5. The grate can be removed for storage once it has cooled.

• CAUTION: The canner or cookpot should becentered and balanced on the canning grate. • Bringwatertoboifat Hlsetting;afterboi(inghasbegun, reduceheattolowest setting that will maintain boiling. • Cover canner or cookpot when bringing water to boil to save energy and to speed cooking. • Use canning recipes from a reputable source - such as the manufacturer of your canner, manufacturers of canning jars and the USDA Extension Service.
