Cooktop may emit light smoke and
odor the first few times the cooktop
is used. This is normal.
The glass-ceramic surface may
appear discolored when it is hot.
This is normal and will disappear
when the surface cools.
Glass-ceramic cooktops retain heat
for a period of time after the unit is
turned off.
NOTE: Do not attempt to lift the
cooktop.

Before first use, clean the cooktop. (See
Cleaning, page 8.)
Do notallow plastic, sugar or foods with
high sugar content to melt onto the hot
cooktop. Should this happen, clean
immediately. (See Cleaning, page 8.)
Never use cooktop as a work surface or
cutting board.
Do not slide metal pans across a hot
surface.The pans mayleave markswhich
can be difficult to remove or leave
permanent marks. Any marks should be
removed promptly. (See Cleaning,
page 8.)
To prevent scratching or damage to the
glass-ceramic top, do not leave sugar,
saltor fats onthe cooking area. Wipe the
cooktop surface with a clean cloth or
paper towel before using.
Never use a soiled dish cloth or sponge
to clean the cooktop surface. A film will
remain which may cause stains on the
cooking surface after the area isheated.
Do not use foil or foil-type containers.
Foil may melt onto the glass. If metal
melts on the cooktop, do not use. Callan
authorized servicer.
Do not allow spills to remain on the
cooking area or the cooktop trim for a
long period of time.
Do not useabrasive cleansing powders
or scouring pads which will scratch the
cooktop.
Donot use chlorine bleach, ammonia or
other cleansers not specifically
recommended for use on glass-ceramic.
To retain the appearance of the glass-
ceramic gas cooktop, clean after each
use.
