4. With the platform in the (stowed) position:
a. Drive the machine on a grade, not to exceed the
rated gradeability, and stop to ensure the brakes
hold;
b. Check that the tilt indicator is illuminated to ensure
proper operation.
c. With the machine on a firm, level surface check that
boom telescope (beyond transport mode) and lift
up (more than 15° above horizontal) functions are
disabled with the axles retracted.
5. Swing the boom over either of the rear tires and ensure
that the Drive Orientation indicator illuminates and that
the Drive Orientation Override switch must be used for
the drive function to operate.
6. Overhead Soft Touch (If equipped)(1100S Only) - Visu-
ally inspect the condition of the switches. Ensure soft
touch indicator is illuminated when any of the switches
are depressed.
Boom Control System Check Procedure
Perform the following check with no load (personnel or mate-
rial) in the platform from the ground control station with the
machine on a firm, level surface.
1. Ensure all axles are fully extended.
2. With the boom fully retracted, raise the boom off the
boom rest to horizontal.
3. Position the jib horizontal, jib straight, and platform level.
4. Extend the boom until it stops.
5. Boom must stop on colored stripe matching the capac-
ity indicator. If the boom does not stop on the correct
stripe, the system must be repaired by JLG authorized
Service Personnel before the machine can be used.
6. Push and hold the gray Boom Control System Test But-
ton on the ground control panel. The lighting of the
green Boom Control System Calibrated indicator indi-
cates the system is functioning properly. No indicator
light or the lighting of the red Boom Control System
Warning indicator indicates the system must be repaired
by JLG authorized Service Personnel before the
machine can be used.
