CAUTION: Avoid injury! Machine component or attachment
is heavy. Use a safe lifting device or get an assistant to help
lift, install, or remove component or attachment.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Eyebolt position must be maintained
as shown. Changing the orientation (rotating) is possible
during the tightening process, causing pressure on the
spring.

1. Install handle assembly (A) to hinge pin (B) with M8 lock nut (C).
Tighten lock nut until threads bottom out on pin.
2. Orient spring anchor bracket (D) as shown and install bracket to
mower deck with M8x25 carriage bolt (E) and M8 lock nut (F).
3. Install M8 lock nut (G) onto deector bolt (H) and tighten lock nuts (F
and G).

4. Tighten M8 lock nut attaching right deector to deck bafe.

NOTE: Orient handle (L) up and away from mower deck as shown.

5. If necessary, loosen nut (I).
6. Install spring (J) to bracket and eyebolt (K).
NOTE: For ease of installation, pull back on handle and hand tighten
nut.
7. Using a 15 mm open-end wrench, tighten nut (I) until eyebolt is
tightened to bottom of threads.

Installing Mulch Blades
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Blades are sharp. Always wear
gloves when handling blades or working near blades.
Replace blades if defective. Never straighten or weld them.

1. Install blade (A) with cutting edge toward the ground.
2. Install large washer (B) and bolt (C).
3. Insert wood block between blade and mower to prevent blade from
turning when tightening bolt.
4. Tighten bolt.

5. To check blade-to-mulch bafe clearance, rotate blades by hand. If
interference occurs, check that hardware is tightened.

Install Shields, European Models Only (X700)
NOTE: Hardware (C) is retained to shield with a push nut.

1. Install left (A) and right (B) shield with attached hardware (C).
2. Check for clearance between handle assembly (D) and shield (A).
3. If necessary, remove shield and cut away excess material.
