MiniDV Video Camera Specification Sheet

JVC GR-D290
JVC's compact MiniDV video camera GR-D290 offers innovative
features, covering everyone's shooting needs, from beginners to the
experienced users.JVC introduces the Live Slow technology with
the GR-D290. This technology allows, for the first time ever, the user
to record slow motion images and play them back with real-time
sound. Live Slow is extremely useful for playing back precious or
hard-to-see moments as the speed is slowed down to a quarter of
normal playing speed. This effect is achieved by the camera
recording the picture at 1/4 the normal speed, and thus showing with
great clarity a slow motion effect. Slow motion images are recorded
with sound on a DVC tape and played back in real time, thus
allowing one to view greater detail in the image. In addition, even
footage shot at normal speed can be played back with the slow
motion effect. In this way precious moments become all the more
enjoyable.With the GR-D cameras JVC also introduce a 25x optical
zoom and 800x digital zoom. These precision lenses offer new
possibilities to users. Images can be enlarged up to 25 times without
encountering jagged edges or other undesirable noise in the image.
The picture can further be enlarged up to 800 times when the digital
zoom is employed. These zoom lenses demonstrate JVC's
commitment to push existing technology to new levels.JVC's Super
High-Band Processor expands the cameras signal's frequency
range to raise horizontal resolution to 520 lines or more, thereby
taking full advantage of the DV format's original high resolution.
JVC's 3D NR (3-Dimension Noise Reduction) compares field A to
field A, and field B to field B across two frames so that the scanning
lines are identical and noise can be reduced more accurately. As a
result, the signal-to-noise ratio is improved by 2 dB and noise is
reduced by about 30%. So, flicker is eliminated and color
reproduction is improved, enhancing overall picture quality.The
USB interface present on the GR-D290 easily interfaces with many
recent laptop and desktop personal computers. This USB port
supports USB Video Class for high-speed industry standard video
streaming and data transfer without the need for an IEEE 1394. With
the provided "CyberLink DVD Solution", one-touch DVD burning, as
well as VCD burning, is possible, allowing you to store sharp,
