Initial Use
To reach the set coldness ievei when operating the wine cooler for the first time, run it without wine
load untityou hear the compressor stop. Thisusually takes 2 to 3 hours.Once the set temperature is
reached, toad wine into the wine chiller.
Note: if the w_nechifier has been placed in a horizontal or more than45 °
tilted position for any period of time, wait 1 hour before plugging it in.
Temperature Control
Adjust temperature gradually: move the knob in small increments,allowing
a few hoursfor the temperature to stabilize with each incremental change.
Forcolder temperatures, turn the knob towards Coldest_
For"warmer temperatures, turnthe knob towards Cold
Thetemperature range COLD and COLDEST is 64_ o 41° F,
which is ideal for wine storage.41° is best for white wine,
and 64° is ideal for reds_
Note that turningthe temperature control diai to OFFonly stops
the cooling cycle but does NOT turn off the wine chiller. "Youmust
unplugthe wine chiller to turnit completdy oF
If the wine chiller is unpiugged from the power supply,
you mustwaft 3 to 5 minutesbefore restarting it.
Hints for Operation
Theoperation of the unitcompressor may result inthe appearance of water droplets or frost on
the rear wall of the coding compartment. HoweveByou do not have to wipe or manually defrost
the accumubtion. The rear wall automatically defrosts, and all excesswater discharges though a
channei to a receiver above the compressor where it is vaporized,
In certain circumstances,such as operation in a surroundingtemperature of below 55°F,excessive
frost may form on the cooling compartment rear walL In suchcircumstances,you will have to unplug
the unitand allow the frost to melt before resumingoperation.
Normal Operating Sounds You May Hear
At times you may hear boiling water, gurgling sounds, etc. that are the result of the
refrigerant circulating through the cooling coils
Cleaning and Maintenance

General Cleaning
Prepare a cleaning solution of 1to 2 tablespoons of baking soda mixed with warm water Usea
sponge or soft cbth, dampened with the cteaning solution,to wipe down your wine chiller
Rinsewith dean warm water and dry with a soft clotL
Do not use harshchemicals,abrasives, ammonia, chlorine bleach, concentrated detergents,
solventsor metaf scouring pads. Some of these chemic@ may dissolve,damage and/or discolor your
wine cooler.
Door Gaskets
Clean door gaskets every three monthsaccording to the instructions described above in General
Cleaning.
Apply a light coating of petroleum jelly to the hinge side of the door gaskets to
keep the gaskets pliable and ensure a good seal
Power interruptions
Occasionally there may be power interruptionsdue to thunderstormsor other causes:Removethe
power cord plug from the AC outlet when a power outage occurs. Keep the wine ch ller door
closed to preserve compartment coolness for as long as possible_After a proionged power outage,
you shoutddean the inside of the chiller compartment _fore reuse.
Vacation and Moving Care
Forlongvacationsor absences,unplug the unit_remove wine bottles from wine chiJter, turn
the temperature dial to the OFF positionand cieanthedoor gasketsaccording to the General
Cleaning section.Propdoor open,soair cancirculate inside.If moving the wine chitler, always
keep it in a vertical position. Donot moveunitwhenina horizontalposition,aspossibledamageto
the sealedsystemcould occur.
