RIGID STEM MOUNT
1) Lower shade down over fixture. Align threaded studs in up-
per frame of shade to holes in tabs on fixture. Pass studs
thru holes and set shade down on tabs of fixture.
2) Thread knobs onto studs of shade frame. Tighten to secure.
3) Select proper length of stem(s) required. pass fixture wire
through stems.
4) With correct orientation of threaded nipples (male) of stems
to threads in fixture/stem threads (female), Thread stems
(see note) into coupling on top of fixture body. Continue
with remaining stem(s). Thread small nipple (see note) into
top of last stem (ceiling side). Tighten stems to secure.
NOTE: Thread locking compound must be applied to all
stem threads as noted with symbol to prevent ac
cidental rotation of stems during cleaning, relamping,
etc.
5) Pass fixture wires thru hole in canopy. Make sure open side
of canopy faces ceiling. Pass threaded nipple of stem thru
hole in canopy. Slip lockwasher over end of nipple. Thread
hexnut onto end of stem. Tighten to secure.
6) TURN OFF POWER.
a) IMPORTANT: Before you start, NEVER attempt any work
without shutting off the electricity until the work is done.
b) Go to the main fuse, or circuit breaker, box in your
home. Place the main power switch in the “OFF”
position.
c) Unscrew the fuse(s), or switch “OFF” the circuit breaker
switch(s), that control the power to the fixture or room
that you are working on.
d) Place the wall switch in the “OFF” position. If the fixture
to be replaced has a switch or pull chain, place those in
the “OFF” position.
7) Find the appropriate threaded holes on mounting strap. As-
semble mounting screws into threaded holes.
8) Attach mounting strap to outlet box. Mounting strap can be
adjusted to suit position of fixture.
9) Grounding instructions: (See Illus. A or B)
A) On fixtures where mounting strap is provided with a
hole and two raise dimples. Wrap ground wire from
outlet box around green ground screw, and thread into
hole.
B) On fixtures where a cupped washer is provided. Put
ground wire from outlet box under cupped washer
and green ground screw and thread screw into hole in
mounting strap.
If fixture is provided with ground wire. Connect fixture
ground wire to outlet box ground wire with wire connector,
after following the above steps. Never connect ground wire
to black or white power supply wires.
10) Make wire connections. Reference chart below for correct
connections and wire accordingly.
11) Push fixture to ceiling, carefully passing mounting screws
through holes in canopy. Make sure all wires are inside
canopy and do not get pinched between canopy and ceiling.
12) Slip lockwashers over mounting screws. Thread lockup
knobs onto mounting screw and tighten to secure fixture to
ceiling.
13) Insert recommended bulbs.

14) Follow steps 1 - 4 from RIGID STEM MOUNT instructions.
15) Pass fixture wire thru threaded hole in first loop. Thread loop
onto last threaded nipple in stem using same thread locking
compound as in step 4. Tighten to secure.
16) Thread small threaded nipple into second loop using same
thread locking compound as in step 4.
17) Add chain link between both loops. Close chain link ends
together using chain pliers or padded pliers to prevent dam-
age to finish.
18) Weave fixture wire thru chain link and second loop and pass
thru threaded nipple in second loop.
19) Continue with steps 5 thru 13 from RIGID STEM MOUNT
instructions.
