PREPARATION Know Your Hedge Trimmer Carefully lift the tool from the carton and place it on a level work surface. Align the raised portion on the battery pack with the grooves on the bottom of the tool, then slide the battery pack onto the tool, as shown. c. Ensure that the battery-release buttons on the battery pack snap into place and the battery pack is secured to the tool before beginning operation.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Tips for best trimming results • Before starting the hedge trimmer, maintain proper footing and balance and do not overreach. Wear safety goggles, non-skid footwear and rubber gloves. Hold the unit with both hands, with the cutting blade (A) directed away from you. • Do not trim too much at one time. This can cause the blades to bind and slow, reducing the cutting efficiency. • Do not force the hedge trimmer through heavy shrubbery. This can cause the blades to bind and slow down.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE All maintenance should only be carried out by a qualified service technician. Before performing any maintenance, remove the battery from the tool. WARNING • Blades are sharp. When performing any maintenance, wear non-slip, heavy-duty, protective gloves. Do not place your hand or fingers between blades or in any position where they could get pinched or cut.
