1 Getting started Welcome to your KODAK OLED Wireless Frame. Viewing your pictures with spectacular clarity and brightness couldn’t be simpler! Setting up your frame Attaching the power cable CAUTION: Do not use this power cable with other devices, including digital cameras. 2 1 Your power cable may look different from the one pictured. Getting started Turning your frame on and off With the power cable still plugged in, your frame retains information (like the time) if you turn it off. Power button - press and hold (for about 2 seconds), then release www.kodak.
Getting started Using your frame’s Quick Touch Borders IMPORTANT: The display screen is not touch-sensitive. Do not touch it. Lights appear on the borders (upper right and bottom) to show you where to touch. CAUTION: Only use your finger on the borders; borders do not react to sharp or metal objects—they may damage the border or screen. Tap lights next to icons* (No sliding here) Touch tips Tap and slide on the Quick Touch Borders only. Tap a border to display the icons. Tap Close to dismiss them.
Getting started Setting your language The language screen appears the first time you turn on your frame. ■ Slide (or tap below slider arrows) on the lights at the bottom border to highlight your language, then tap Save. To change the language at a later time: ■ Tap (Home) → (Settings) → Language. The language screen appears. Highlight your language, then tap Save. 2 Setting up for wireless operation To allow your frame to access the contents of your computer wirelessly, connect your frame to your wireless home network. NOTE: If you are not sure you have a wireless network, ask the person who set up your computer. If you have problems with your wireless setup or connection, see Troubleshooting starting on page 63. Or open KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software on your computer (see page 8) and click Tools → Wireless Troubleshooter.
Setting up for wireless operation The Connecting screen (or the wireless network security screen, if enabled) appears. Or, tap Exit to go to the Home screen without connecting. (See page 27.) 2 If you do not have wireless network security enabled, go to step 3. (However, we recommend that you enable your network security to prevent others from accessing your wireless home network.) If you have wireless network security enabled, the on-screen keyboard appears.
Setting up for wireless operation NOTE: The screen identifies your security as either WEP or WPA. A WEP security key can be either: 5 or 13 characters (0-9, A-Z, some special characters, case sensitive) 10 or 26 characters (0-9, A-F, not case sensitive). A WPA key is 8-63 characters, case sensitive. The person who set up your network can provide you with this information. IMPORTANT: Do not select Scan now (to verify connections, page 10) until you have installed the software.
Setting up for wireless operation If your wireless network is not found If your wireless network is not found (from page 5), follow these suggestions: 1 Slide to highlight My network not shown, then select OK. 2 Check that your router is on and your frame is close to the router, then select Scan again. If your wireless network is still not found, your network does not broadcast SSIDs. You then need to enter the network SSID (sometimes called the network name) manually: 1 Select Enter SSID, then tap OK.
Setting up for wireless operation 1 Insert the CD into your computer. 2 Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. ■ CD packaged with your frame. Click Typical to install EASYSHARE Digital Display Software and to update a previous version of EASYSHARE Software. If you do not have a previous version of EASYSHARE Software on your computer, you can click Custom and choose both applications for a new installation. The software icons appear on your desktop when the installation is complete.
Setting up for wireless operation Verifying computer/device connections After installing the software (page 8), return to your frame, then: 1 Tap OK. The network connection setup screen appears. 2 Tap Scan now to verify your computer connection. NOTE: Select Scan later if you want to finish your wireless setup at a later time. Your frame cannot access your wireless network until you have verified. To do so later, tap Home → Settings → Network → Verify computer connection.
3 Setting up Web content Opening the Device Settings Web page On your computer, open your frame’s Device Settings Web page in your browser. You’ll use it to set up access to the KODAK Gallery and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds from services like FLICKR® and FRAMECHANNEL. IMPORTANT: WINDOWS OS users—use KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software to open the Device Settings Web page. MAC OS users—enter the frame’s IP address in your browser to open the Device Settings page. See page 12.
Setting up Web content MAC OS users MAC OS users, here’s how to open your frame’s Device Settings Web page: 1 Make sure the frame is connected to your wireless network (page 5) and your computer is connected to the Internet. 2 Get your frame’s IP address: a On the frame, tap Home → Settings → Network, then tap Select. b Make a note of the IP address (format: XXX.XXX.X.XXX) from the frame’s Network Settings screen. 3 Open a browser (for example, INTERNET EXPLORER, MOZILLA FIREFOX, SAFARI, etc.
Setting up Web content Your frame’s Device Settings Web page 1 2 Web Media tabs 1 From the drop-down menu, select your frame. 2 Click the following Web Media tabs for on-screen setup instructions. ■ KODAK Gallery—connect to your existing Gallery account or set up a new one to receive pictures from Gallery friends and family. See page 14. ■ FLICKR service—sign in to your existing FLICKR account or set up a new one (see page 15) so you can receive and view FLICKR photos on your frame.
Setting up Web content Connecting to your Gallery account Perform this one-time setup on your frame to connect it to your existing KODAK Gallery account. 1 Follow the steps on page 11 to access the Device Settings Web page. 2 Click the KODAK Gallery tab. The Gallery page appears. 2 7 3 4 5 6 3 If you don’t have a Gallery account, click Set one up now. Follow the on-screen instructions, or visit www.kodakgallery.com. Then continue with step 4. 4 Select your country/region from the drop-down menu.
Setting up Web content Connecting to your FLICKR account To view your FLICKR photos on your digital frame, you need a FLICKR account. 1 Follow the steps on page 11 to access the Device Settings Web page. 2 Click the FLICKR tab. The FLICKR page appears. 2 3 Sign in confirmation 4 5 3 If you don’t have a FLICKR account, click Set one up. Follow the on-screen instructions to create an account. 4 If you have an account, click Sign in now.
Setting up Web content Connecting to your FRAMECHANNEL account Connect your frame to your FRAMECHANNEL account so you can view, create, and manage additional customized feeds such as news, weather, sports scores, and finance. 1 Follow the steps on page 11 to access the Device Settings Web page. 2 Click the FRAMECHANNEL tab. The FRAMECHANNEL page appears. 2 3 3 If you don’t have a FRAMECHANNEL account, click the link and follow the on-screen instructions to create one.
Setting up Web content Adding Web feeds Set up your frame to view RSS (Really Simple Syndication) photo feeds directly from FLICKR, FRAMECHANNEL, and other favorite sites. IMPORTANT: Your frame can play only feeds that contain photos. An error message appears when you try to play feeds that are text only. Make sure you preview your feeds after they are added to the Device Settings page. You can edit or delete them there. See page 24.
Setting up Web content The Photo RSS/FLICKR Add/Edit page appears. 5 8 6 7 NOTE: You can edit preloaded feeds here (such as FLICKR: Interesting photos) and feeds you add. (See page 24.) 5 In the Site drop-down menu, keep FLICKR as the default site. 6 Enter a tag (keyword) for the types of photos you want to see. NOTE: FLICKR automatically sends pictures matching the tag directly to your frame. 7 Click in the Photo feed name box to automatically assign the tag to the FLICKR feed name. 8 Click Save.
Setting up Web content How to add a FRAMECHANNEL feed 1 Follow the steps on page 11 to access the Device Settings Web page. 2 Click the FRAMECHANNEL tab. The FRAMECHANNEL page appears with a list of preloaded FRAMECHANNEL feeds that are on your frame. 2 3 FRAMECHANNEL logo 4 3 If you don’t have a FRAMECHANNEL account, click the link and follow the on-screen instructions to create one.
Setting up Web content The FRAMECHANNEL Add/Edit page appears. 7 5 6 5 From the Category drop-down menu, select the type of content you want to see from FRAMECHANNEL (news, weather, sports, finance, etc.) 6 You can change the photo feed name (category included) that appears automatically. 7 Click Save. Congratulations, you have completed your FRAMECHANNEL photo feed setup! The feed name is added to the list of feeds on the FRAMECHANNEL page and to the Web media list on your frame’s Home screen.

The Photo RSS/FLICKR page appears with a list of preloaded feeds that are on your frame. 3 Click Add. Setting up Web content Creating shortcuts on your frame Create up to five shortcuts to easily access your favorite Web media (such as KODAK Gallery, FLICKR, and FRAMECHANNEL) right from your frame’s Home screen. 1 Follow the steps on page 11 to access the Device Settings Web page. 2 Click the Create Shortcuts tab. The Web Media shortcuts page appears with a list of photo feeds that are on your frame (including feeds you create as shortcuts).
Setting up Web content Previewing, editing, and deleting feeds Preview, edit, or delete feeds (preloaded or feeds that you add) on the FRAMECHANNEL, FLICKR, or Photo/RSS pages. IMPORTANT: Your frame plays only feeds that contain photos. An error message appears when you try to play feeds that are text only; so, make sure you preview your feeds after they are added on the Device Settings page. To preview a feed, click Photo/RSS page.

For viewing Web content, see Viewing in wireless mode, page 36. Enjoying your pictures immediately! ■ 25 To view your pictures or play a slide show, insert a memory card, or connect a camera or other USB device (see page 26). Your pictures play automatically. If your frame has pre-loaded sample pictures, they start playing automatically.
Viewing locally on your frame Inserting a memory card To insert a card, push it firmly into the slot until it clicks and stops. To remove a card, push it in to release it, then pull it out of the slot. xD MULTIMEDIA Card SECURE DIGITAL/SDHC MEMORY STICK Important: Do not insert a micro or mini memory card without an adapter (sold separately). Connecting a digital camera or other USB device USB devices: camera, flash drive, card reader, computer, etc.
Viewing locally on your frame Viewing the Home screen Start at the Home screen to access your pictures & videos, music, Web content, shortcuts to your Web feeds, and the Settings menus. 1 Tap (Home). If the icons are not visible, tap the Quick Touch Borders. 2 Tap the border below one of the icons along the bottom of the screen. 3 Tap (Close) to dismiss the icons.
Viewing locally on your frame Viewing your pictures and videos View your pictures, videos, and music from the frame’s internal memory or any connected picture source or wireless network computer. 1 Tap (Home), then (Pictures and Videos). All connected sources are displayed. 2 Slide or tap below the arrows to highlight a picture source, then: ■ Tap (Play slide show) on the right border to start a slide show of the pictures in the highlighted source. ■ Or, tap OK to view thumbnails, folders, etc.
Viewing locally on your frame Viewing thumbnails There are three ways to view your pictures as thumbnails: ■ Tap (Home) → (Pictures and Videos), then select a picture source (see page 28). Tap OK. OR Picture source, selected ■ From a slide show, tap the touch border to display the icons, then tap (Thumbnails). ■ From single view, tap (Thumbnails).
Viewing locally on your frame Viewing a single picture ■ To view a single, full-screen picture, highlight it in thumbnails view, then tap OK. If a slide show is playing, tap the Quick Touch Border (upper right or bottom) when the picture appears, then tap (Close) to hide the icons and lights, and view full screen. ■ To rotate a single view picture, tap (Actions), then keep tapping (Rotate) until you get the desired orientation.
Viewing locally on your frame Playing a slide show There are two ways to start a slide show on your frame: ■ Insert a card or connect a USB device—a new slide show starts automatically, replacing a currently running slide show or single view picture. Highlight a picture folder in thumbnails view (see page 29), or highlight a picture source on the Pictures and Videos screen, then tap (Play slide show). NOTE: Music and videos in the same picture source play automatically during a slide show.
Viewing locally on your frame Changing Slide show options The Slide show options let you customize how you view and play slide shows on your frame. 1 While viewing a slide show, tap a Quick Touch Border to pause the slide show and to display the screen icons. 2 Tap (Slide show options). 3 Slide, or tap below the slider arrows, to highlight an option, then tap Select. IMPORTANT: You may need to keep sliding to see a complete list of available options. 4 Follow the on-screen instructions.
Viewing locally on your frame Creating a multimedia slide show Use KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software to create a multimedia slide show with pictures and music. Then copy the slide show to your frame. Before you proceed, make sure you install the software packaged with your frame (see page 8). 1 Double-click (KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software icon) on your desktop to open the software. 2 Click the Slide Show Editor tab.
Viewing locally on your frame 3 In Picture & Videos, click the folder or location that contains the files you want to add to the slide show. 4 In the Viewer pane, select the pictures, videos, or music, then drag and drop them to the Slide Show Editor. Drag pictures in the Editor to change the order. 5 Click Save. In the Save Slide Show window, enter a new name in the text box, then click Save. The multimedia slide show is listed in the left navigation pane under Slide Shows.
Viewing locally on your frame Arranging pictures to play by date or filename The pictures on your frame are arranged and played by date, starting with the oldest. You can play the arrangement or order by date or alphabetically by filename. To change the sort order: 1 While viewing a slide show, tap a Quick Touch Border to pause the slide show and to display the screen icons. 2 Tap (Slide show options). 3 Highlight Sort, then tap Select.
5 Viewing in wireless mode Make sure your frame is connected to your home wireless network and set up to display Web content. See Chapter 2, Setting up for wireless operation and Chapter 3, Setting up Web content.
Viewing in wireless mode Viewing pictures from your computer View pictures and videos from your computer right on your frame—wirelessly. IMPORTANT: Make sure you install the software that came with your frame (page 8) and connect to your wireless home network (page 5). 1 On your frame, tap (Home) → (Pictures and Videos). 2 Highlight your computer, , then tap OK. It may take up to 10 seconds for your computer to appear on the Pictures and Videos screen.
Viewing in wireless mode Viewing Gallery/Web media content on your frame Follow the instructions in Chapter 3, Setting up Web content, to prepare your frame to display your favorite KODAK Gallery albums and RSS feeds from the Web. Then do the following: 1 Tap (Home). 2 On the Quick Touch Border, tap the light below a Web source to view its content. Web sources Web sources on the Home screen, including your shortcuts: Web media—list of all the RSS photo feeds that are on your frame.
Viewing in wireless mode Viewing Web feeds on your frame Wirelessly view preloaded RSS feeds or feeds you set up of frequently changing Web content such as FLICKR or FRAMECHANNEL public photos, news, weather, sports, finance, etc. 1 From the Home screen, tap (Web media). To start a slide show, slide to highlight a feed from the list, then tap (Play slide show). 2 To pause a slide show and display the icons, tap a touch-sensitive area on the Quick Touch Borders (upper right or bottom) during the slide show.
Viewing in wireless mode Automatically receiving My Friends Albums IMPORTANT: Make sure you install the software that came with your frame (page 8) and connect to your wireless home network (page 5). Your wireless frame uses Kodak’s Picture Mail feature to notify you automatically when a friend shares pictures with you at the KODAK Gallery.
Viewing in wireless mode Turning off auto-receive and notification You can turn off auto-receive and/or notification from your friends’ albums at the Gallery from the Home screen (see below) or from the Display Settings Web page (see page 14). 1 Tap (Home), (Settings), then tap OK. 2 Tap KODAK Gallery, then tap Select. 3 Highlight Picture Mail, then tap Select.
Viewing in wireless mode Emailing pictures and videos from your frame Use the Share feature to email pictures and videos to family and friends—directly from your frame. IMPORTANT: Make sure you install the software that came with your frame (page 8) and connect to your wireless home network (page 5). Adding a new email address 1 Choose a picture source, then tap 2 Tap (Actions). (Share), then tap Add name. The onscreen keyboard appears.
Viewing in wireless mode Emailing your pictures 1 Highlight a picture in thumbnails (page 29) or single view (page 30). To select multiple pictures, see page 54. 2 Tap (Actions), then tap (Share). The email addresses and nicknames you created are listed. The album name and number of pictures you selected are also displayed. 3 Slide to highlight an email address. Tap (Share). A progress bar appears with the number of shared pictures and the upload destination.
Viewing in wireless mode Copying wirelessly to/from your computer The KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software (included on the CD that was packaged with your frame) lets you drag and drop (copy) pictures, videos, and music wirelessly between your frame and computer or other connected devices (page 26). Before you proceed: 1 Make sure you install the software that came with your frame (page 8). Connect to your wireless home network (page 5), then verify your computer connection (page 10).

Viewing in wireless mode the new location in the Drag and Drop Zone (for example, the frame’s internal memory, a memory card, computer, or connected USB device). 4 Go to the copy location to view your copied pictures, videos, etc. or to play a slide show on your frame. NOTE: The slide show order of play for available sources is: memory card, USB device, internal memory. To maintain the slide show order during playback, see page 35 and select Filename, A - Z.
Viewing in wireless mode 4 Click My Collection, then select the pictures in the Viewer pane. Drag and drop them into the Picture tray. 5 In the menu bar, select File → Copy to. The frame appears as removable drives—one drive for each connected picture source in the frame: internal memory, memory cards, USB devices. 6 Browse to the frame location to which you are copying. 7 Select Best For Digital Picture Frame to resize the picture you are copying.
6 Doing more with your frame Playing music 1 Tap (Home), then (Music). All connected sources that contain music files are listed (memory card, USB device, network computer, etc.) 2 Slide to highlight a source, then tap OK. 3 Continue to navigate through any folders or categories until the songs are listed. Play/Pause button 4 Slide to the right/left to move up/down the music list, then tap OK.
Doing more with your frame ■ To copy or delete music files (MP3), highlight the songs in the music source, then tap (Actions) → Copy or Delete → OK. -To copy, tap under the destination icon where you want to copy your music. -To delete, tap Yes to confirm the deletion. ■ To copy music files (MP3) from your computer to your frame’s internal memory, drag and drop them from your computer. See Copying wirelessly to/from your computer, page 44.
Doing more with your frame Printing pictures NOTE: The print icon is available on your frame when you connect your printer. Your frame is compatible with PICTBRIDGE Technology, so you can print directly to PICTBRIDGE enabled Printers. 1 Turn off the frame and printer. 2 Make sure your frame is disconnected from the printer. 3 Turn on the frame, then change your connection mode on your frame from Computer to Printer. See page 51. 4 Reconnect your frame to the printer, using the USB cable.
Doing more with your frame Manually changing USB connection mode The connection mode must match the device to which you connect the frame: Computer or Printer. The default is Connect to computer. You can change the connection mode. 1 Disconnect the printer or computer from the frame. 2 On the frame, tap (Home), then tap (Settings). 3 Slide to highlight Device configuration, then tap Select. 4 Highlight USB connection mode, then tap Select.
Doing more with your frame Copying on your frame Copy pictures from your current viewing location to other connected devices (see page 26). CAUTION: Removing a card or disconnecting a device while copying may damage your card, pictures, or device. 1 Highlight a picture to copy: In thumbnails view, slide or tap below the slider arrows to find a picture; or, display a picture in single view (see page 30). To select multiple pictures, see page 54. 2 Tap (Actions), then tap (Copy).
Doing more with your frame Deleting pictures CAUTION: Removing a card or disconnecting a device while deleting may damage your card, pictures, or device. 1 Highlight a picture to delete: In thumbnails view, slide or tap below the slider arrows to find a picture; or, display a picture in single view. To select multiple pictures, see page 54. 2 Tap (Actions). 3 Tap (Delete), then tap Yes to confirm. The picture is deleted. 4 Tap OK to dismiss the screen. 53 www.kodak.
Doing more with your frame Selecting multiple pictures Use the multi-select feature to copy or delete two or more pictures or to play a slide show of selected pictures. 1 In thumbnails view (see page 29), slide or tap below the slider arrows to find a picture, then tap (Select). A check mark appears on the selected picture. 2 Continue selecting pictures. To remove a check mark, tap (Unselect) while the picture is highlighted. To quickly unselect many pictures, tap Select All, then Unselect All.
7 Changing settings and more Changing frame settings The options in the Settings menu let you customize and configure your frame. 1 Tap (Home), then (Settings). 2 Slide or tap below the slider arrows to highlight a setting, then tap Select. IMPORTANT: You may need to keep sliding to see a complete list of available options. 3 Follow the on-screen instructions. Tap Save to accept your selections. 4 Tap (Back) to exit.
Changing settings and more Setting Options Viewing options (continued) Slide show starting point—when pictures are sorted from oldest to newest (see page 35), specify where a slide show starts automatically (your most recent week of pictures, or from oldest picture). Brightness—your frame automatically adjusts the screen brightness for room conditions (default). To turn off auto-adjust, click Disable; slide to manually adjust the screen brightness.
Changing settings and more Setting Options Clock and timer On/Off schedule—set your frame to turn on and off at a specified time every day (page 58). Set time—manually set the clock to the current time (page 58). KODAK Gallery Specify your country, email address, and password. First, install the software (page 8) and set up access to the KODAK Gallery (page 11). Network Set up your frame for wireless operation. See page 5.
Changing settings and more Setting Options Automatic resizing Choose to turn on or off automatic resizing of your pictures when copying. Full resolution is unnecessary for viewing and quickly fills up the frame’s memory. Choose full resolution for printing. About Check your frame model, serial number, and firmware version. Setting the clock and timer Manually setting the clock 1 Tap (Home), then tap (Settings). 2 Highlight Clock and timer, then tap Select. 3 Highlight Set time, then tap Select.
Changing settings and more 2 Highlight Clock and timer, then tap Select. 3 Highlight On/Off schedule, then tap Select. The current time is displayed and the hour field is highlighted. 4 Set the Turn on time. Slide to adjust the hour. Tap the Next arrow to highlight the next setting (minutes), then slide to adjust it. Repeat to set Turn off time. NOTE: Make sure the on time is earlier than the off time. 5 Tap Enable, then tap Save when you’re done.
Changing settings and more The upgrade message disappears. You will not be reminded again about this firmware version. A new message appears when the next firmware version is available. Changing settings and more Changing your frame orientation Your frame is set up to display pictures and videos in landscape orientation . You can turn the frame on its side to change the orientation to portrait . But, you must also change the orientation setting to portrait. Change the stand position: ■ Landscape Turn the frame 90 ° and carefully set it on a stable surface. Change the frame orientation setting: 1 Tap (Home), then tap (Settings). 2 Slide to highlight OK.
Changing settings and more Maintaining your frame IMPORTANT: Always disconnect the power before cleaning. Do not use water, cleaning solutions, or other adhesives on the frame or any of its parts. Gently wipe the frame and OLED screen with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth (included). For fingerprints on the frame, apply light pressure. Frequently asked questions I already have KODAK EASYSHARE Software on my computer. Do I have to install it again? The CD that was packaged with your frame contains a special version of EASYSHARE Software that lets your computer share pictures with your frame. Install it to upgrade to this special software version. See page 8.

Troubleshooting and support Resetting the clock after losing power If you turn off the power on the frame or otherwise lose power for half a day or more, the clock time returns to the factory setting and the automatic on/off times, if set, are disabled. ■ When you turn the frame back on, the set time screen appears on the frame. ■ Slide to set the hour. Tap the left/right arrows to highlight the previous or next setting (hour and minutes), then slide to adjust the setting. Tap OK.
Troubleshooting and support If... Try one or more of the following Cannot copy pictures from one device to another even though the copy destination is not full. Storage devices that have FAT (File Allocation Table) 16 formatting can only store up to 512 files in its top level (root) directory. To make sure all your pictures copy properly, format the copy destination to FAT32 before copying to it: Caution: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including protected files.
