7 Maintaining Your Printer Your printer requires little maintenance. However, Kodak recommends cleaning the scanner glass and lid regularly to remove dust and fingerprints, which affect the quality and accuracy of scanning. Except for cleaning the printer, keep the printer plugged in with AC power turned on. If you use a power strip, don't turn off the power strip. Keep the printhead and ink cartridges in the printer at all times. This helps prevent damage to the printhead.
KODAK ESP 5200 Series All-in-One Printer Cleaning the scanner glass For good quality copies and scans, ensure the printer's scanner glass and lid backing are clean; dust the exterior as needed. CAUTION: Do not use abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride on the glass, as these chemicals may damage it. Do not pour or spray liquid directly on the glass; the liquid might seep under the glass and damage the printer. To clean the scanner glass: 1. Unplug the printer and raise the scanner lid. 2.
Maintaining Your Printer Cleaning inside the scanner lid Minor debris can accumulate on the white document backing located under the scanner lid.
