Default Values for Fields
If you define default values in the bis_config.xml file, they are used in the fax fields. If you define
the NameOfSender property as blank, the sender field is also blank in the fax header. If the
property has a value, it is replaced in the field with the name of the logged on user.
In shortcuts, default values for fax fields work as with any other shortcut. If a default fax number
is defined for the shortcut, it will appear in the fax number field. For the sender field, the field is
filled as following:
Global shortcuts: It is blank or uses the default user specified in Kofax Front-Office Server
Administration Console.
Group shortcuts: Uses the logged on user. This take precedence over the user specified in
Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console.
Personal shortcuts: Uses the logged on user.

Why does Fax not display as a destination type in Kofax Front-Office Server Web Client?

Make sure you have performed the procedures shown in Configuring Kofax Front-Office
Server on page 5.
Enable the Fax destination type in Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console.
Refresh the browser window.
How do I send documents to a destination from the MFP?
Create shortcuts in Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console and Kofax Front-Office
Server Web Client. Shortcuts created with Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console
are available to all users of an MFP. Users can create their own shortcuts with Kofax Front-
Office Server Web Client.
