Subject: Carburetor Heater Kit GM19462-KP1-QS and GM19462-S
Introduction
The carburetor heater warms the carburetor for
improved engine starting when the ambient
temperature falls below 35_F(2_C).
Note: The heater requires a continuous source of
120 VAC power.
Install the heater between the engine air cleaner and the
carburetor. Read the entire installation procedure and
compare the kit parts with the parts list at the end of this
publication before beginning installation. Perform the
steps in the order shown.
Figure 1 shows the carburetor heater assembly.

1. Air cleaner base plate
2. Screw, X-97-22 (4). Remove and discard existing screws
3. Heater GM19463. Apply RTV to both sides
4. Carburetor. Remove spacer and 2 gaskets and discard
5. Engine
6. Fuel line
7. Existing spring clip
8. Breather hose
9. Breather tube GM19464
10. Power cord
11. Insulator GM19465
12. Plug X-301-23
13. Decal GM22387
