Usingaashmediacard
Yourcomputerhasamediacardreader,whichsupportsthefollowingcards.
•SecureDigital(SD)card
•SecureDigitalHigh-Capacity(SDHC)card
•SecureDigitaleXtended-Capacity(SDXC)card
•MultiMediaCard(MMC)
Notes:
•YourcomputerdoesnotsupporttheCPRMfeaturefortheSDcard.
•Whiletransferringdatatoorfromaashmediacard,suchasanSDcard,donotputyourcomputerin
sleeporhibernationmodebeforethedatatransferiscomplete;otherwise,yourdatacouldbecome
damaged.
Installingaashmediacard
Attention:Beforeyoustartinstallingaashmediacard,touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.
Thisactionreducesanystaticelectricityfromyourbody.Thestaticelectricitycoulddamagethecard.
Toinstallaashmediacard,dothefollowing:
1.Locatetheappropriatetypeofslotforyourcard.See“Locatingcomputercontrols,connectors,and
indicators”onpage1.
2.Ensurethatthemetalcontactsarefacingdownwardandpointingtowardthecardslot.
3.Pressthecardrmlyintothecardslot.
Iftheplug-and-playfeatureisnotenabledfortheinstalledashmediacard,dothefollowingtoenable
thefeature:
1.OpenControlPanel.
2.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.ClickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconrmation.
4.FromtheActionmenu,selectAddlegacyhardware.TheAddHardwareWizardstarts.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Removingaashmediacard
Attention:Beforeremovingaashmediacard,stopthecardrst.Otherwise,dataonthecardmightbe
corruptedorlost.
Toremoveacard,dothefollowing:
1.Clickthetriangularicononthetaskbartoshowhiddenicons.Then,right-clicktheSafelyRemove
HardwareandEjectMediaicon.
2.Selecttheitemyouwanttoremovetostopthecard.
3.Pressthecardtoejectitfromyourcomputer.
4.Removethecardandstoreitsafelyforfutureuse.
Note:IfyoudonotremovethecardfromyourcomputerafteryouejectthecardfromtheWindowsoperating
system,thecardcannolongerbeaccessed.Toaccessthecard,youmustremoveitrst,theninsertitagain.
