ThinkPadSetup

YourcomputercomeswiththeThinkPadSetupprogramtoenableyoutoselectvarioussetupparameters.

TostartThinkPadSetup,dothefollowing:

1.Turnonthecomputer.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,presstheF1key.TheThinkPadSetup

programmainmenuopens.

Ifyouhavesetasupervisorpassword,theThinkPadSetupprogrammainmenuwillbedisplayed

afteryouenterthepassword.YoucanstartThinkPadSetupbypressingEnterinsteadofenteringthe

supervisorpassword.However,youcannotchangetheparametersthatareprotectedbythesupervisor

password.Formoreinformation,referto“Usingpasswords”onpage45

2.Movetoanitemyouwanttochange,byusingthecursorkeys.Whentheitemishighlighted,press

Enter.Asubmenuisdisplayed.

3.Changetheitemsyouwishtochange,bypressingthefollowingkeys:

•F6orThecombinationofShiftand+:Changetoahighervalue.

•F5or–:Changetoalowervalue.

Iftheitemhasasubmenu,youcandisplayitbypressingEnter.

4.PressEsctoexitfromthesubmenu.

5.Ifyouareonanestedsubmenu,pressEscrepeatedlyuntilyoureachtheThinkPadSetupprogram

mainmenu.

Note:Ifyouneedtorestorethesettingstotheiroriginalstateasofthetimeofpurchase,pressF9to

loadthedefaultsettings.YoualsocanselectanoptionontheRestartsubmenutoloadthedefault

settingsordiscardthechanges.

6.SelectRestart.Movethecursortotheoptionyouwantforrestartingyourcomputer;thenpressEnter.

Yourcomputerrestarts.
