Note:Turnoffthecomputerandwait3to5minutestoletitcooldownbeforeremovingtherearcover.
Toreplacetheheat-sink:
Step1.Removeanymedia(disks,CDs,DVDsormemorycards)fromthedrives,shutdowntheoperating
system,andturnoffthecomputerandallattacheddevices.
Step2.Unplugallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
Step3.Disconnectallcablesattachedtothecomputer.Thisincludespowercords,input/output(I/O)
cables,andanyothercablesthatareconnectedtothecomputer.Referto“Leftandrightview”
and“Rearview”forhelpwithlocatingthevariousconnectors.
Step4.Removetherearcover.Referto"Removingtherearcover".
Step5.Removethemotherboard.Referto"Replacingthemotherboard".
Step6.Removethe6screwsthatsecuretheheat-sinkmoduletothemotherboard.
Step7.Liftuptheheat-sinktoremoveit.
Attention:Placetheheat-sinkupsidedownonaflatsurfacetopreventthermalgreasecontaminating
othercomponents.
Step8.Toinstallthenewheat-sink:
a.UseanalcoholpadtowipethethermalgreaseofftheCPU.
b.Lineupthenewheat-sinkmodulewiththemountingholesonthemotherboard.
c.Securethenewheat-sinktothemotherboardwiththescrews,makingsuretofitthescrewsin
sequencefollowingthenumbersprintedonthenewheat-sink.
d.Usetheadhesivetapetosealthegapbetweentheheat-sinkandsystemfan.
e.Reattachthemotherboard.
Step9.Reattachtherearcover,standandstandcover.
