Use and Care Manual

Follow these simple care and cleaning tips on the best ways to care for furniture pieces to maximize
their life.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid placing furniture adjacent to external walls where it may trap moisture, or adjacent to radiators,
heaters, or gas or wood res where there is increased risk of scorching damage or discoloration to
maximize furniture longevity. Place upholstered pieces where they wont be exposed to direct sunlight to
minimize fading. Sharp objects such as rings, buckles, or pet claws can tear, scratch, or break upholstery
fabrics. Flip, rotate, and u removable cushions regularly to ensure even wear and to retain the original
soness. Tight, attached seat and back cushions will stretch and wrinkle with use. Restore their appearance
by smoothing the surface and tucking excess upholstery into the sides or back.
UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE
To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing is recommended. Cushions and
pillows should be turned on a weekly basis. Spot clean using a mild water-free solvent or dry cleaning
product. Only a professional cleaner should undertake a complete overall cleaning. e use of steam or
water-based cleaners may cause excessive shrinking or staining. Avoid using strong chemicals to clean
upholstered furniture.
WOOD FURNITURE
Dust the surface of wood furniture frequently with a clean, lint-free cloth or feather duster. is will guard
against layers of dust accumulating and scratching the furniture. Avoid using water to clean wood
furniture. When necessary, clean spots with a clean rag dipped into a solution of mild soap and clean water,
wipe with clean damp rag to remove residual soap and then dry with a so cloth. Use felt cloth or a so
runner under heavier accent pieces to avoid spots and depressions in the wood. When writing on any
wood surface use a protective pad or desk blotter.
METAL/ALUMINUM FURNITURE
Wipe spills immediately. Maintain with regular dusting and clean with mild soap and water; dry thoroughly
and do not use a brass cleaner.
MIRROR/GLASS SURFACES
Dust with a so, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaner. Spray a small amount of glass cleaner onto a
lint-free cloth and wipe mirror/glass clean.
MARBLE SURFACES
Blot up spills immediately and use coasters on table tops under beverages. Use trivets or mats under hot
dishes or cookware. Clean with warm water and dry surface immediately aer cleaning. Do not use cleaners
that contain acid such as bathroom, grout, or tile cleaners. Do not use abrasive cleaners in either dry or
liquid forms. Only use a cleaner and polish formulated for marble surfaces.
