change the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system. 5. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded. 6. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. 7. Do not abuse the cord.
USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD: Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. Table 1 shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage number, the heavier the cord.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION • 002313 Switch action • 1 002323 1. Reversing switch CAUTION: Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the “OFF” position when released. 002337 Installing or removing socket To install the socket, push it onto the anvil of the tool until it locks into place. To remove the socket, simply pull it off. 1 2 1. Socket 2. Anvil OPERATION The proper fastening torque may differ depending upon the kind or size of the bolt, the material of the workpiece to be fastened, etc. The relation between fastening torque and fastening time is shown in the figures. Standard bolt N.m (ft.
High tensile bolt N.m (ft.lbs) M16 (5/8”) Fastening torque 250 (181) 200 (144) M16X50 (5/8” X 2”) 150 (108) M12 (7/16”) 100 (72) M12X50 (7/16” X 2”) 50 (36) 0 Proper fastening torque 300 (217) 1 2 3 4 5 Fastening time 6 7 8 (S) Hold the tool firmly and place the socket over the bolt or nut. Turn the tool on and fasten for the proper fastening time. NOTE: • Hold the tool pointed straight at the bolt or nut. • Excessive fastening torque may damage the bolt/nut or socket.
• Even though the diameters of bolts are the same, the proper fastening torque will differ according to the torque coefficient, the class of bolt and the bolt length. 4. The use of the universal joint or the extension bar somewhat reduces the fastening force of the impact wrench. Compensate by fastening for a longer period of time. 5. The manner of holding the tool or the material of driving position to be fastened will affect the torque.
