SOLAR MOTOR REPLACEMENT
TOOLS REQUIRED
7/16” Socket Wrench
7/16” Nut Driver
4mm Allen Wrench
Pliers
MOTOR_REPLACEMENT
***CAUTION: To avoid injury the solar panel must be covered before replacing motor ***
1. Disconnect the plug in connector between the solar panel and motor.
The connector can be found close to the motor inside the attic.
2. From inside attic, loosen the fan blade assembly on the motor shaft by
using a 4mm Allen wrench to loosen the set screw found on the hub of the
blade.
3. Loosen the 7/16” nuts that hold the motor in the motor bracket. Be sure to keep support under
the motor to prevent it from falling out of the brackets. Carefully slide the motor out of the
motor bracket. Let the fan blade rest on the motor brackets.
4. Place the new motor into the motor bracket. Slide the fan blade
over the motor shaft. Tighten the 7/16” bolts. Position fan
blade so the set screw is lined up with the flat part of the motor
shaft. Top of blade should be flush with the top of the motor
shaft. Tighten 4mm set screw.
5. Reconnect the plug in connector between the solar panel and
motor. This connector can be found close o the motor inside
the attic
6. Remove cover from solar panel
