530 Changegiver Product Maintenance Handbook
FAULT-FINDING
The red LED on the keypad can be used as a helpful aid in
diagnosing reported faults on a changegiver.When the changegiver
is switched on the red LED should be permanently on.
If the Red LED is off (Machine fault or no power)
Check the power
Press the mode key, check the yellow LED flashes
Check the fuses and looms
Machine Checks
Out of stock (blocker off, electro-mechanical only)
VMC fault (Executive or BDV changegiver)
Check MDB host VMC
If the Red LED is flashing
There are eight different addresses which contain error codes. Read
all error codes using the MEI
®
Route Alpha 250 Terminal before
any further action is taken.
The numbers are additive e.g. if the display reads an error code of
5 then tubes A and C are faulty.
If a 0 is displayed there is no fault in that address.
Address 340 Full sensor errors on tubes A,B,C, or D.
Range = 0 - 255
1 = Page 0 EEPROM error. Fatal error. Contact your MEI
distributor.
2 = Page 1 EEPROM error. Fatal error. Contact your MEI
distributor.
4 = Audit FEM corrupt. Fatal error. Contact your MEI distributor.
8 = Audit FEM removed. Switch off power to the machine. Check
that audit FEM is inserted firmly in the board. Contact your
MEI distributor if the error persists.
If an error is indicated check for blockages etc. at the top of the
tubes. Check the prisms at the top of the cassette, they should be
clean and undamaged.
